Hey my squirrel Grunts a lot. Well usually when im feeding, or holding, or playing with him. Its so cute. I know he isnt constipated which I know that sounds silly but it was suggested that could be a reason. But he goes just fine. Any specific reason the squirrels do this?

no that I know of, some just do it more than others, or go through some "phases" when they ...grunt a lot:D :grouphug

but I am sure, our experts might have more knowledge about excessive grunting - will let them speak

GRUNT - is their way of talking / communicating...... :thumbsup

I have three siblings that have been sick for the past few weeks and now since they are finally starting to feel better and are
getting their strength back - one of the females will jump at me and grunt when I get to close to the cage --its so so CUTE
that I just have to laugh @ her every time --she is sooooo small, but acts sooooo big - lol :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Sammy grunted all the time when he was happy as a baby. He is a year old and when he is especially pleased to see you or even playing a favorite game he STILL does the baby grunting:thumbsup

One has to listen to the sound of the GRUNT and the ACTIONS of the Squirrel
to see what the Grunt means..... My little girl was telling me --to get away

Yes, the rest of their actions and body language will help you figure it out, but grunts can be happy grunts too. Grayson used to grunt happily when I'd come see him and get him out of his cage. He'd come out grunting and rubbing himself on me all happy-do.

Two of my girls grunt with happiness at feeding. So cute. :grouphug

Hi grunting is normal. I have a 7 week old little boy i call Newt. And he grunts a lot. Mostly when hes walking on the back of my chair. Also have a 5 yr old girl thats unreleasable. She cant jump. But i do plan to release the boy.
