Sorry this is going to be long. I have a 7 1/2 week male fox. He just decided to open his eyes the other day. Ever since they opened he has been very skittish. I assume this is normal since he is not used to seeing anything so his world is changing. Today however I came home to feed him and I could hear him making a noise kinda sounded like a motor that is the only way I can decribe it. He was chattering his teeth together and started lunging at me. Then he would put his paw out for me to pick him up like he always has. But as soon as I would go to get him he would chatter his teeth again and lunge. I told him he was giving me mixed signals:) I just stood by his cage and gave him a chance to calm down then he was fine. I just need to know if this is normal or not.

Yes...... this is normal Squirrel behavior, he is giving you his "I am not sure act" (therefore) I am going to make noise and attack to see if I can scare you away... Its All Good. :thumbsup

Good to know. So how long does it take before he wont be so jumpy? Before his eyes opened he didn't care at all about noise now he jumps at even the slightest sound.
