Hi,
Have a 5-6 week old baby girl who is doing wonderfully! She is starting to get more active and moving around tons, my question is can i take out the heating pad and flannel now and newspaper line her cage and give her a tissue box with soft things in it for her to sleep in? Will she stay warm enough
i think if the flannel wasnt in the cage she would explore it more (2 levels)
Thanks! (my first rescue, but what a wonderful experience):)

No - I would leave the heating pad in the cage with a blanket over it until she has had her eyes open for two week and had been moving around in the cage for these two weeks (no need for the extra flannel)...... baby squirrels needs to be able to regulate their own body heat before you remove their heat source..... (btw) --you can place a small receiving blanket in the cage for her to sleep under.
