Ok so lila is doing great! Eating and pottying great and on her own now too! But the more I look at pics of other baby greys on here the more I worry. Her front arms seem to be shorter and stubbier than the others and her nose is not pointed. It's more short and rounded. Could something be wrong with her? I've read on here about downs babies and was wondering if there are any other signs I could look for. I will try to get some up close pics of her legs and nose today but she is sleeping right now. Other than that she is doing amazingly well! Growing like a weed! And help would be great. I may just be over reacting but my best friends dad that has had all types of squirrels his entire life noticed it about three weeks ago but I didn't think anything about it!
Do get us some pictures asap.

Post pics when you can. Reading this made me think of my guy Ringo. He looked different from the others and still to this day he looks a bit different. His head is round and his ears are offset. I was so worried. As he aged....he started looking more like the rest....and is perfectly healthy. He just looks a bit different.
Give the baby some time....and remember...they all do look different from one another. Sometimes it just takes having groups of them to see that.

I will get pics when I feed her at 10! Her ears look really big and floppy to me too! they don't stick up the just kind of flop! If she is a downs baby she will be ok right? She is very healthy other wise!!

I don't think Downs - those babies never do well - hard to feed, don't gain, sickly, don't progress normally as far as moving around. There are dwarf squirrels out there, too - and perfectly normal in every other way. Jackie's Spice may be a bit of a dwarf and she owns a suburban house.

Thanks crittermom! U just made me feel a lot better!!! Never had a prob feeding her or getting her to put weight on!!!! Can dwarf squirrels be released? I don't mind keeping her at all because I already live her and am gonna winter her anyways but I know that is she is fine she would rather be released one day!

don't think she is down's at all. A perfectly normal sweet little baby squirrelly face.
Someone said already about dwarfs, but that will be seen in time, whether she grows to be a normal size, or will remain miniature.
But as far as down's, , personally, I think she is normal.
Besides certain physical features, usually, down's babies show other signs, such as difficulty eating, digesting, slowed reaction, poor coordination of various degrees etc etc.
You little precious Lila looks active, bright and inquisitive, as a healthy squirrel baby should be:) :grouphug

There is truly something therapeutic about kissing a squirrel. Its also very addictive!!! LOL.
I have a daughter with mental illness and sometimes can be quite hard to handle. One of my coping skills is to go in and kiss a squirrel! Funny cuz its one of hers as well! Sometimes when she is having a bad day....we meet each other at the door for our "therapy" kisses. Try explaining THAT to a therapist! LOL.
