I just got a bigger cage for my two Gray Squirrels as I am setting them up for the next part of there lives, The eyes are opening! I am wondering how long I can leave the henrys squirrel block in there before it "goes stale" I was amazed to see how fast my girl ran to it and started attempting to try and take a bite!

Also... Is it normal that she is nibbling at it? they are both about 5weeks today. Her eyes are open, one is anyways and almost the other, and his are not, maybe next week I can guesstimate. Should she be eating it though? I read to put it in there for her to get used to it. I assume this is okay though just want to make sure :crazy

Most folks put a block in with babies once they have eyes open, and teeth, and are ready to start on solid foods. Not sure if 5 weeks is too young. A rehabber can answer that.
At first they just "nom" them. Eventually they start to chew on them. Replace the block after 24 hours, or if it gets dirty or peed on.

She seemed to just make a mess with it really. Chewed at it ( they have bottom and 1 and a half top teeth) and made a crum mess lol. but the sound did make me weary. She loves it otherwise. Looking forward to some more opinions. ALSO what trees in the New york area are good "stick" choices?
