Can squirrels eat these...I saw at my local grocery and want to give them to Wayne & Garth if they are safe.

Here is a description I found..ok for people to eat the fruit inside.
Tamarind fruit is a pod with a sticky brown interior and large seeds. Its flavor ranges from sugary sweet to sour, and it is used in cooking as well as eaten as an out-of-hand fruit snack. Thai chefs use tamarind to add sweet and sour tastes to sauces, soups, salads and stir-fry dishes and, in recent years, the cuisines of Africa, Asia and the tropical Americas started incorporating tamarind into their dishes.
Thought I may have seen these before...probably on Rama's thread. Started to look through Stosh's pics but kept getting sidetracked with Rama's cuteness...also lots, lots of pages, lol. Asking is quicker since it did not come up under our search engine.
