OMG---I just got my baby up for a feeding and he's making all these clicking sounds (and little, I guess, baby squirrel cute sounds). I'm so scared he has pneumonia! I feel like such a horrible squirrel mom.
He's still at 20 grams---only gained two grams since I found him last Thursday. I don't think he aspirated, but tonight I was worried once because the syringe stuck and I pushed a little too much in his mouth. Could that have done it? He's still on the goats milk formula--I thought his FV would come today but hopefully tomorrow.
It's almost 1am. I can take him to the vet in the morning. The ONLY antibiotic I have in the house is Zymaxid, which is for the eyes (I had a torn retina in Feb). I just read up on it and the active ingredient is gatifloxacin, although I have no idea what that means. It's .5% solution (liquid).
Should I feed him eyedrops?!
Should I feed him his meal?
He's not clicking as bad as he was five minutes ago. Could he be making squirrel noises and I'm misinterpreting it?
