This may be a silly question, but when people talk about fresh sticks do they mean fresh from the tree? or just new to the squirrel?
Also, does the type of wood matter, or can I give anything? Would a variety be better? We have maple, pine, catalpa, ash, and mystery tree (no idea what it is).
I just want to make sure I don't give him anything that will hurt him.

FRESH FROM THE TREE....... FRUIT TREES are GOOD!!
As are Hibiscus and Bottle Brush Trees - they can eat the entire TREE (plant branch flower and all)

What is the reason they should be fresh from the tree (not that I have a problem cuttinng branches)? It's never enough for me to know something, I have to know why?:D
