You guys helped me through Elvis' antibiotics and he is doing fine, been off of them but right before we started he started getting a really runny bowel movement and it smells, bright yellow. You can hear him go almost like passing gas but he poos. I have been using kitten milk replacer for almost two weeks now and I actually have been mixing it with plain yogurt because he is eating so much I thought it might fill him up more. Should I use something else form the pet store instead of the milk replacer. He opened his eyes yesterday..help, I'm afraid this is not normal. His bowel movement was yellow mushy at first and now its just runny. He seems fine other than that, very active

Thanks Jackie for your post!! I actually did everything that you told me to when Elvis was a little congested. I gave him the ABs and gave him yogurt mixed with his formula two hours before ( or after ) his dose. We all had doubts he was really in need of ABs and turns out I think I was just being over protective. I only gave ABs for two days and stopped. The runny poop started the day before the ABs so I don't think the meds did it. I have stopped the kittens milk as of now and just went to the pet store and bought Goats Milk Esbilac..is this what I should use and should I mix the yogurt or heavy cream ( which I have seen in a few post with it ) or just by itself. Elvis is growing and very active so the only issue we have is the bowel movement. Thanks again guys..if anyone can asnwer my questions before his next feeding so I will know what to give him as I have a three year old two legged Gray ( Nutter Butter ) but it has been so long since I had to take care of a "baby".

Best bet would be to get hi on Fox Valley formula asap - www.foxvalleynutrition.com or www.henryspets.com. Kitten replacer is NOT good, all of the nutrient levels are wrong.

For the time being, read this post:
http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29904

and get the ingredients as quickly as possible and transition him. I bet the poop issues resolve themselves.

So...while I wait for the formula to come in is the goats milk esbilac for puppies that I just bought at the pet store not a good source...the reason I ask is the thread you sent me to says it is for humans...mine is not. I am really confused at this point..I will order the other you gave me the link to but until then...is what I have ok or should I return it and go get the goat milk for humans...his next feeding is in an hour..thanks a million

OK I took the pet store goat milk back and went to the grocery store and bought the goats milk, yogurt and cream. Will keep you posted!

I'm sorry I couldn't get back to you...work:shakehead

I do not trust the company that makes esbilac for any number of reasons. I think you did EXACTLY the right thing. As the sticky about the formula says, start by making it without the heavy cream. If that goes well, you can add the cream gradually into the recipe.:thumbsup
