A couple of questions that I've been meaning to ask...the babies are 5 1/2 weeks old...99 & 102 grams...
When can the girls start going through the night without a 4 am feeding?
What age do I start extending the time between feedings? They are eating every 4-5 hours now (6-7cc's each).
Is it normal that they're still pretty unsteady on their feet when running around? They look drunk and keep falling sideways every few strides.
How do you keep bloat from happening? It seems no matter what I do, their little bellies keep getting bloated. I've skipped feedings, belly rubs under warm water, etc. but it keeps happening. They suck so damn hard on the syringes that they make air bubbles in the nipple and then gulp down the air. Any way to stop that?
THANK YOU! :thankyou :thumbsup :D

I would feed them before you go to bed (11 - 12 pm) and then again in the morning (6 am). I wouldn't be feeding them in the middle of the night at this point.
Try to keep them from sucking so hard. I put my left hand behind their head and place my index finger and thumb on either side of their little face by the corner of their mouth. It helps to keep them from getting too good of a lip lock and maybe you're pushing the plunger too slowly for them.
EDIT: I noticed you posted pictures about your babies suckling on that dog toy. Do you think they might be sucking air then and that is causing bloat? Just a thought.
I am hoping someone with a bit more knowledge on bloat replies to you.

See if you have more control without a nipple.

Thanks! Any advice on a feeding schedule - how long do I keep feeding every 4 hours? And is it normal that they're still wobbly?

Yes, they can be wobbly for a while. Max is the same way, he's about the same age. I would keep them on that schedule (def. don't feed any farther apart).. Do they stop at 6 or will they take the full 7? Weigh them every day to make sure they are getting 5-7% of their body weight. Are they on fv? At only around 100 grams I would feed a little more often, maybe 3.5 hours, to try to get an extra feeding in, and yes, no more need for middle of the night feedings. Are they gaining weight every day?

They will take 7, but I've been having problems with bloat so I've been cutting them off at 6 because their bellies fill so quickly. They've been gaining well - 40 grams in the last two weeks since I got them. They're at 104g & 102g. They each gained 15g in the last three days alone!
