Possible Pneumonia, please help

I have already posted a thread on this, but I have read a little more and I think my little male might have the beginnings of pneumonia. i have noticed on other threads that in lieu of Baytril, I can use other possible medications. Can someone please pm me for guidance? I have phosphorus 30 and Amoxicillin. would one of these work? Also, I need help with dosage. the Amox is a prescription for my dog and would need to break it down for the squirrel. Please contact me. I will be checking back here periodically. thank you.

I have 500 milligram tablets of Amox. please someone pm me so that I can describe symptoms and get dosage amount if believed he has pneumonia?

Are you anywhere near Fairfax in Virginia? There's a great exotics vet that works closely with a wildlife rehab network and could hook you up with whatever you need.

First off, thank you everyone for helping. I am very close to Fairfax, VA. But is there any thing that I can for the little man now?

His symptoms aren't definite meaning, when he is at rest in my hand and I am still, he sleeps quietly, but if he senses any movement, that clicking noise happens. I don't hear it in his chest when I put my ear to him, I hear it in the throat. also, he does have diarrhea. looks to be firming up a bit. lastly, he moved away from the heat source and started to get cold. he did draw his little body up, but when he was close the heat source, his body was relaxed. i put him back close to he heat source. i do have a scale to weigh my squierrels. i am trying to find it now.

Make sure heat is on low with a towel over it. It might be too hot since he was crawling away from it. You might want to add a sock buddy, put rice in a sock, tie a knot and heat it up for approx. 25 sec and put close to him.

i'm confused my heat was on low. I am getting very worried. his breathing is coming less frequently and he isn't very responsive. what can I do to keep him alive until I can hear from someone on the AMOX dosage?

Can you post a picture so I can see how big he is? I have a dosing for you. Also don't worry to much about the noise he is making. If you only hear it when he gets startled, upset, you move. That is probably just him Purring. If he has pneumonia he would click every breath he took. Also he would open mouth breath. Now don't get me wrong. I would still put him on some Antibiotic just because of the wet cold to the bone and stress he has gone through. I posted on the other thread. Email your phone number to me.
