View Full Version : Help please? Lynniie Rocks found 2 more babies!

Hi all--and hi MadtownTom if you're reading. LynniieRocks (Wisconsin) posted in the thread below that she's found two more babies and is searching for more. I pointed out to her that Tom's number is still posted earlier in the thread where she posted, in case it helps. Sounds like she has a concern about her neighbor getting cheesed off about her delving too far into his yard searching. She did so great with her earlier find. Hope someone can have a look. Thanks!

Lynniie.....I can't stress this enough! You need to get those babies on some heat right away. Having these babies all together will increase their chances of survival. If nothing else....get a plastic bottle ( 20 soda bottle or something) and fill it with hot water. Wrap a dish towel ( not terrycloth) around the bottle and huddle them up next to it. Its getting VERY cold at night already up North where you are....and they need to get warmed up before anything. Keep trying to call Tom....and last but not least GOOD SAVE!!!! Im so proud of you!!!

I am going to connect with Lynnie this afternoon to pick up the additional squirrels she found. She is going to keep them warm and maybe giving them a little electrolyte solution until I can get there.

Im trying to reunite them with their mom because i seen a big squirrel just standing were i had found them like if she was just waiting for something, i thought thats the mom, but so far i havent seen any coming around the box and i dont want them to get cold! What should i do? Tom is picking them at 4 but at least i want to try to reunite them. Should i bring them back in? Its been less than an hour

In case their mom comes back once theyre gone,

Lynnie - if you are able to watch them so no cat/bird gets them go ahead and leave them out under the tree until I get there. We can decide then what to do with them. If their mother is around that is always the best option - thanks for trying that!!

:D Tom i was thinking if you could name the first one you took "Alvin" and the two from today "Theodore and Simon" ? :rotfl I know that Alvin and the rest are actually chipmunks but since they're 3 boys i think the names will be good for them :) I hope you're able to keep them :(
