I purchased our dog some new treats today that she loves. They are all natural and organic. Just curious if we can give one to our squirrel. Here are ingredients:

Organic oat flour, organic rolled oats, molsses, natural peanut butter, natural pumpkin, ground unsalted peanuts, tapioca startch, canola oil, ground cinnamon and baking soda.

He ripped the top of the package trying to get to them. I think he would like them and I understand just as a treat. Should I let him or just skip it?

I thought they did too. They are not very big, maybe the size of a quarter or a bit larger. All different flavors. Lazy Dog Cookie Company is manufactor, I might do some reading if they have a web site. They do contain cinnamon and wasn't sure if that was OK in small amounts? Will let you know if he enjoys it.
9 % protein, 2 % fiber, 9 % fat and 8 % moisture.

After visiting Momma2Boo in March she turned me onto some new treats for my puppy (she's not really a puppy anymore...she's 8). They are called Zukes Mini Bakes. I looked them up online and I liked what I read...they are a little more pricey...but I think they are worth it. I have also given Ellie & The Fuzzy Five a few here and there as a treat. They all liked them and the dog does too. As long as it is not a daily thing, I do not think there is any huge problem with using the ones you got as a treat. Afterall...way back when didn't rehabbers raise squirrels on dog food???:thinking

We have used the Zukes (only for the dog). She does like them but the squirrel never showed any interest in them. Zukes have many great products. This company has the same ideas that Zukes have and yes...a bit expensive. I feel better knowing that more natural products are added and less filler products so we don't mind paying a bit more.

Grayson (fray squirrel) ate one of the treats. Well...he nibbled on it and ran into his house with it. I have no idea if he actually ate it and I am not brave enough to feel around in there to see if he did :) I am going to give Maya (flyer) one and see what she does with it. She is picky so doubt she will eat it!
