Lulu was playing and running about and somehow (happened so quickly) my finger nail and her eye collided. It looks fine but in the right light I swear I can see a scrape in her eye. She keeps rubbing it. I wasn't sure if I should watch it and let it heal or what. I have some eye ointment (lubricant) that is kind of a cream that dissolves quickly to lubricate the eye. I was advised by my exotic vet to use it on my leopard gecko who gets dry eyes sometimes and I used the same stuff with my shar pei who has inverted eyelashes that sometimes irritate/scratch her eyes. Should I apply a drop to the eye? It is called "white petrolatum and mineral oil lubricant". I also have contact rinse if I should just put a drop of that. Sorry I am just panicked. Thanks for any help.
PS- all I have done so far is kiss her eye and gently wipe it with a wet paper towel. :dono She did enjoy the cold, wet paper towel on her eye.

I would put a drop or two in. You may have scratched her cornea, which is really scratchy and annoying but should heal up in a few days.

Ok. Will do. Thanks so much IR. I have been freaking out. I will put a drop now of the ointment/lubricant stuff now and see if it makes her more comfy. :)

Rescue remedy and Children's Motrim might help if she really seems to be in pain.

Rescue remedy and Children's Motrim might help if she really seems to be in pain. I see you recommend "Children's Motrin" - which is what I use as well...... but I have often been corrected and re advised to use only Infant Drops of Motrin.

Would you Recommend One over the Other - IR? Thanks.

Infant Motri is the one we have dosages for, Most people don't realize that they have three strengths - adult, childrens and infant.
