One of our releases came home and we are not sure what kind of wound it is. any thoughts or suggestions? she will come to us to take food from our hand.....so if we need to catch her....we will probably only have one chance at it. thanks.

could be a zillion things...
monitor her appetite...if she's eating...I would say let her be...if it gets worse...maybe catch her then..
guessing spider bite, another sq bite..
bot fly? tree puncture:dono
I am sure you have ABs if you need to treat her...if not I would round some up just in case...
I know we are far away, but can share some if needed.
she's a pretty sq!:Love_Icon

thanks jackie. we have some meds just in case we need to catch her. she is one that comes home everyday. But she does not get close enough to us except for peanuts. we will watch her. wait and see i guess is all we can do.

It is bot season. It looks like the start of a warble?

i was thinking that too. i dont like where it is at. but she wont get close enough for us to catch her. she is only the second one i have seen with a wound like this. i was thinking bot or absess. either way...we just have to watch her. we are lucky cause she is one that comes home several times a day....
