No, you need to start with pedialyte first (does he/she have diarrhea?) for 12-24 hours depending on condition and then you start with diluted formula (usually 4/1 water/formula, working up over several feedings as long as there is no issues, to full stregnth.) But you have to start with pedialyte.
Pappy is correct.
The work-up to full strenth will be about four days.
(depending on condition and acceptness)

what if he's really skinny like I can see his bones? Shouldn't he be trying to gain weight from formula?
The pedialyte helps restore balance.
Needs to be hydrated first.
That is more important right now.
Dehydration is far more serious.
Try dilute formula in the morning.

Scalded milk causes severe diarrhea...
diarrhea causes weak immune system
which leads to parasite infiltration...
yes hydration is required, but you can also hydrate with a dilute formula, sometimes chances must be taken..this baby needs nutrition quick...IN cases like this {scalded milk} sometimes there isn't 4 days worth of life left if the diarrhea has already started:shakehead
You will need a scale and must monitor the babies weight several times a day...
do not use anything medicinal over the counter for diarrhea,
:nono no immodiums, or kaopectates..no no..you need RX meds for cocchidia
what you are seeing is the immune system growing weak...scalded milk does not have enough nutrition to support the requirements to sustain baby sqs lives.
once weak, immunities will flounder and parasites take over, rapidly...
this also adds to the diarrhea...requires meds..very tricky to keep baby hydrated at this point...
an emaciated baby due to Clarrisa is a hard turn around...
It really depends on current/actual state the baby is in...
all formula must be warm, whether rehydration or actual formula.
Go slow with all feeding and stay on top of schedule...
KEEP THE BABY WARM, clean baby poopy mess as you go, don't allow to chill, keep wrapped.
pics will help...
I have supplies, meds and vet if I am close enough to share...
good luck...go slow...
thank you
