I have a male squirrel that is about 4 months old. He has a maloclusion and his bottom teeth are getting very long. Is there anyone close by the Central Ohio area that could assist in teeth trimming? I would also like to have him neutered since he cannot be released.

I can't help with the tooth issue, but I will chime in with my opinion and say don't neuter him if at all possible. :nono They are not like cats and dogs and they need those hormones as defense mechanism etc in the event they ever escape. There really is not much benefit to having them neutered and anesthetizing anything as small as a squirrel is always tricky. :soapbox

I know this is not what you want to hear...but if you don't find a qualified person to trim his teeth...YOU can do it. I swore I could never do it, but my little squirrel, MIRA, needed it done in an emergency situation ( I'm in Costa Rica) and within an hour of watching a two minute video ( over & over about 5 times) on teeth trimming--RamaMama and I trimmed her teeth.
Once you get them in a "burrito wrap" it takes about 15 seconds.
I was totally scared...but she needed it done-right away, and had no vet to do it for me.

Tiny Paws, has a vet that trims teeth and as Stosh has posted you can do this yourself with extreme caution.
If it's possible to get a vet involved, I would.
Odontomas are the danger that I worry about most. Tumors on tooth root.
Also, be sure to file teeth after trimming, would hate for penis injury to occur while grooming.

this link is semi how I do it..
I use a popsicle stick behind the teeth to prevent swallowing, or clipping tongue...
here's a link to the tools I use.

in the upper right hand corner...you will see Private messages... send Tiny Paws a message as to her vet info if needed.
