You cannot get rid of the hawk. So long as there is food, the hawks will come to you area. When I release, I stay outside with them for 3 days to keep predators away while they are learning the ropes. I also have a grid over my feeding stations so no arial predators can pick them off when they are eating. The hawks have learned it is useless to even try catching prey while they are eating, however, I've seen one try to catch a squirrel on a limb, and kept swarming the tree.

can you get a recording of the squirrel alarm? ... the only problem is having it ready when the hawks swoops in... so not a good idea .... and maybe they didn't even see the hawk ... but they don't speak wild.....:grouphug


the only thing that stopped hawks when we had our injured squirrel was to make a grid of ropes over the yard 1 meter wide... but as atlanta said ... it doesn't mean the hawks can't catch them in the trees etc...
