Hello everybody...you probably won't find me on here very often, for i am not a computer person, i don't even know if i'm doing correctly..lol.. I am 49 and love animals. i have had ferrets, rats, raised fancy mice, and had finches, love birds and parrots. I currently own 2 sugar gliders, 3 cats, one female chiuhuha who is my baby girl. I am a stay at home mother of animals. I am very interested in flying squirrels. Hve been for quit some time, but i'm at a time in my life, that i feel i can really look into owning them and breeding them. I am in Texas and i have done research and there seems to be only one breeder of flying squirrels.
My question is, and it may be a stupid one to ya'll, but humor me..lol..i'm just trying to get opinions. Should I get a little girl to start out with as a pet, get to know her and how she interacts first? Or are these guys so good natured, that I could get a baby, for my pet and get two adults for breeding? Or would the mother eat her babies, because she is not bonded to me?
Thanks so much for ya'lls input and time.

We usually put it in the top drawer next to the refridgerator.
Just for today, I'll take it out, and set it on the counter where you can click on it.:D :rotfl

It doesn't matter if boy or girl, when only one is involved.
Either one can be great friend.

Hi,
I'm pretty new on the board too. I have deck squirrels and came here with a question. I liked it so much that I stayed! :D
I just have a dog and some deck squirrels that I feed. It seems to me that there are a lot of squirrels that need homes so may I suggest finding a local rescue group and giving a rescued squirrel a good home! I'm sure the rescue group and the squirrel you adopt will be soooo appreciative that you give them a home! Just a thought. I'm considering adopting one myself but my doggie and deck squirrels might get too jealous(mostly my dog gets too jealous to share me) so I'll probably wait some years down the road to adopt a squirrel. But, if it were a good time for me to get a squirrel for an inside buddy then I would definately adopt from a rescue group! Rescue groups bust their bum to help squirrels and they need people to give good homes! :D
Nice to meet you and Best Wishes!
