I got up this morning to discover that one of the bunnies evidently try to get out and hurt himself. He has a large spot on him with no fur and bleeding. He is acting normal but I know he is in pain. Should I put triadine on him or what do I do? Help please!

It is not a puncture wound, just skinned rubbed off. It looks bad.

Is this a domestic I am assuming? He will need baytril for infection, it would be wise to get him to a vet (I know easier said then done given it is the 4th of July.) Are you sure he tried to get out? Or did something try to pull him out (is he an outside bunny?)

No. This is a wild bunny I was planning to release after the 4th. I think he tried to get out of the cage.

I have 2 wild bunnies. The other one stays in a box most of the time. I wondered if something scared them.

I brought the cage back in the house before the flies came around. I didn't want maggots getting on him. He's acting ok. He's eating and drinking water.

Flush the area with clean water (normal saline would be better if available). You can use a syringe to do the flush. Then apply an antibiotic ointment - triple antibiotic, neosporin, silvadene. That is probably all I would do for now. Watch for signs of infection - may then need a systemic antibiotic. You can reapply the ointment once a day for a few days.
Are you sure it is not an animal bit? If it is an injury caused by another animal it would need an antibiotic right away. If it is just a "rub" wound and as long as it is not too severe or doesn't get infected should heal fine on it's own. Obviously delay your planned release!
