Can anyone tell me at what age red squirrels become sexually active? Thank you.

I've heard 16 weeks, but I could be wrong. Maybe just 16 weeks for grays. At any rate you will know, my understanding is they change behavior and demeanor signifigantly. Sometimes they get downright aggressive and hostile. (that is if they are kept in captivity without nuetering...)

They reach sexual maturity around 1 year after birth. They have a 38 day gestation period of which 1 to 8 babies can be born. Weaned 7 to 8 weeks after birth, at 18 weeks of age they leave the nest...But sadly only @ 25% reach this age to reproduce because of predators...( Just read that online)
