An Up Date on Sparkle the (Squabbit)

Hi all its been a while......the rain this year in northern California was crazy! Then the sun came out and so did all of the squirrels!
Sparkle has been outside now for a while.....it was really hard the first night she didn't come home. OMG I thought I was going to go crazy! My poor neighbors, I was calling up to her tree nest until about 1am. lol
She made it through and so did I, kicking and screaming. We now have such a unique relationship, I can't imagine my world without squirrels. :)
She comes in every morning about 6:30am to play a little and wait for me to make my coffee. We then venture outside where she then eats her breakfast. Oh yes I am trained well! haha
The wild squirrels have now accepted her and with new little ones running around (not Sparkles) she has so much to do....protecting her buried nuts and her toys.lol
She has changed my world in so many ways! Here are some recent pics....enjoy!

I love Sparkle! She is so beautiful :Love_Icon . She really does sparkle like silver and diamonds. My friend, another MD rehabber, had a group of 3 baby squirrels brought to her in early spring. As they got fur she noticed that one in the group did not have even one beige or brown hair on its body anywhere! It was only silver and white. I went over to see her and she looked exactly like your Sparkle without the x-long ears. I told my friend to look up Western greys. She was amazed. The other 2 siblings were regular Eastern greys. I remember thinking , this must be what Sparkle looks like. :thankyou for sharing her sweet story.:Love_Icon

She is so amazing! We have a lot of the little brown ones around but in my neighborhood we have a small cluster of greys.....some with long ears lol (Sparkles peeps) they all migrate to my yard in the morning to get their grub. Its crazy to see them out there!! I love it tho, oh what unique little personalities :D

I love sharing pics and stories about sparkle......something about these little guys that gets into your blood! I almost rolled my mini van the other day trying to avoid hitting a baby squirrel. We actually got it on two wheels and my 14 year old human daughter is now telling everyone I'm crazy.lol Oh well what can you do......I'm not hitting one :dono

Oh, I am so glad to see you and Sparkle back here! She is a Western gray squirrel - they are actually a different species than the eastern grays, which are the ones you see with the brown coloration.

All the pics are great but the one where you are smooching her head and she is JUST BARELY TOLERATING you - oh, that expression!! That one os priceless.
