I have 3 baby bird (I have noo idea what they are). Huge yellow beaks and very long legs. Heavy for their size. I will try to post picts when hubby gets home.

I have no clue what to feed these hungry guys. I do have Kayteee brand hand feeding formula, will this work? Do I need to hydrate first?

They are in a small bird cage with heating pad 1/2 under the cage. I have them on a fleece blanket.

They only have feathers on their wings and just "fluff" on the rest of their bodies. Very hungry. Finder says that they were in a garage and her children pulled the nest down. She put them in a flower pot by where the nest was at 9:00 this morning and mama didn't come back.

Please help!

don't give a baby bird water they will drown... you can give them pieces of peeled grape or soaked/mushy dog food.

Ok...no water. I can do the grapes (do you mashe them)? I can also do the dog food. What about the hand feeding formula? Anyone ever use that?

There is another diet called the Fons diet I believe but at least for now, the Kaytee is okay - no water; there will be plenty in the food.

Ok...we will start on the Kaytee Exact. I will try to get pictures posted ASAP. The finder said they were robins but I don't think so.

Thanks!

If you have Kaytee handfeeding formula, I assume you know how to feed baby birds...??

Please do not feed the baby bird kaytee...althogh ts great for parrots...and even pidgeons it wrecks havoc on birds that need a high protein diet.

Even the lil birds that eat seeds like sparrows feed bugs to their babes fOr protein.

Honestly u just have to see a bird that's been raised on kaytee...oh it's bad!!

Besides that it's really easyto aspirate them as the kaytee is more runny

Plz hydrate with the grapes no u don't need to mush them cut them in 4rths or 8ths whatever is the size for ur birdies mouths

Soak up some dog kibble for now... It's not complete but it will hold them till we figure out what they are

Big yellow beak makes me think starling. Soaked cat or kitten food is good to get started.

Ok...we did start the Kaytee yesterday as well as the grapes. My husband took off with the camera but will see if he can email pictures when he gets to work.

Everyone here tells me they are robins. I have hand feed baby birds before and can do it. I will start puppy food now and discontinue the Kaytee. They all seem to be pooping and staying nice and warm.

I will be trying to get ahold of someone here that will be able to take these guys. They require a bit more time than what I can devote to them. My boss is not going to be happy today when I stroll into my office with theses guys! The squirrels she tolerates...they are quiet!

Thank you all!

I sent this to Jodi. Yes, please stop the kaytee! Here is the Fons diet, some things you will need to order, but can get them from Chris' Squirrels and More.

1 cup (136 g) ZuPreen Premium Ferret Diet
1.5 cups (355 oz) water
3 Tb (18 g) dried egg white
3 g (3/4 tsp.) calcium carbonate
0.5g (1/8 tsp) Avi-Era bird vitamins
5.0 g (1/2 tsp) active culture plain yogurt or bird benebac (if you are going to freeze do not add this until you take out to use)
Presoak kibble in water (do not drain 'excess' water)
blend all ingredients in food processor (you may need to add a little more water after depending on the age of bird to make it a little thinner to go through a syringe...1 cc syringe only, with plastic tip, again you can get these from Chris').
