My fiance and I are rehabing a baby squirrel. We found Stevie at approximately 2 weeks old and she is now 6 weeks old and very active. We plan to transition her to a bigger cage then eventually release her. My question is, does anyone have a website or a picture they can post of some samples of a pre-release cage. Layout plans would be very helpful or any suggestion of designs and measurement would be great. Ideally we would like to release her in our yard because we have alot of trees.
Thanks.

I think there are a lot of good pix in this Forum:

You can build a very simple enclosure like the ones at my release site (below), or larger more elaborate ones with double doors....

Here is a simple one with a double-door entry to prevent an accidental escape. It can be disassembled and relocated as needed. It is 8' X 8' panels. Must have a bottom to prevent something from borrowing underneath, and the top must have a plastic/plywood or some sort of cover from rain over the nestbox (which is not in the picture).

Thanks island rehabber & atlantasquirrelgirl. Those are amazing pictures. We will most definitely use those designs.
