The wonderful vet who repaired Chewy T. Possum's little hurt mouth called. A woman brought in two baby raccoons--not teeny eyes closed but way too young to be on their own. Trouble is, the only person I could find to take them has a Parvo outbreak and won't be taking any more critters for a couple of weeks. Is there anybody within a couple of hours who can take these babies? I was told The Wildlife Center of VA does NOT accept rabies vector animals tho I'll call tomorrow to see if there's someone who can care for the babies. If you have suggestions I'd sure like to find help for the little guys. The woman took them home with her but can't keep them and I haven't had the shots to care for raccoons. Please PM if you have ideas.
