I guess this is more than an update than a question...
Squirt's been in his new outdoor cage since Sunday afternoon and is in HEAVEN! The first day we set it up, my son was in the cage with Squirt to help me adjust all of the things that came from Squirt's indoor cage. Squirt was just fine with my son in the cage...he'd become acclimated to all of our immediate family members. Well, that was Sunday... We had an unexpected thunderstorm roll thru Sunday night (on his first night out, of course). The next day, there was wet food & papers littering the cage (they were supposed to be temporary.) The plan was for my son to go back in the cage (I don't fit very well with the shelves and branches!) and take out the yucky stuff. Squirt nearly attacked him! I saw it coming...Squirt was exceptionally agitated as my son was climbing in...so I had my son jump right back out. Lesson learned, eh? In 24 short hours, Squirt had made a new, big boy home and he was going to protect it. Normal? I'm actually so pleased to see it. I was worried we'd spent too much time with him while he was inside. I'm glad to see he's still very much a wild animal! It was also so much fun to watch him immediately begin filling his nest box. What instincts! Seems like he was just a bitty baby eating from a syringe!
