Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deter my squirrels from chewing on every power cord they can find in my house??? I have to hide every cord from them or they will destroy it. Im afraid they will get electrocted and they are costing me lots of MONEY!! Every time they chew up my laptop cord its $80 to replace. Is there something I can spray on the cords? Ive tried some spray that I bought at the pet store but it didnt work. I think they LIKED the taste of it! Maybe cayenne pepper?? Please help!!

I covered my cords with a clear tubing that has a split all the way down. I made mine from tubing/hoses from the hardware store...but I know Petsmart sells a product just for that. I made my own because I needed lots of different lengths and diameters. Scrat seems to have outgrown the cord chewing...but I keep the covers on anyway.

this site has them

I've had some success preventing my wilds from eating my hebs and other plants by grinding garlic bulbs to a paste and streading that around the plants I want to protect. You could try to rub some of that pste on your wires, I suppose...

Mind ya, I do hope you're not a vampire ;) and/or bothered by the smell of garlic yourself :rotfl Jokes aside though... it does work like I said. Never did try it indoors (lucky for me, Hami shows no interest for wires... whhhew!!! )

You could try the pepper but if you or any others in your house touch it it will sting and burn you. They sell cord protectors at Office supply places. I think like Office Depot or Staples. My friend put them on all of her cords. It will electocute them if they get ahold of a lamp cord or TV cord, any cord. I can call friend tomorrow if you can't find them. You may want to Google them.

Its probably Bitter Apple Spray that you tried, that seems to be the most common spray sold in petstores.. Maybe you would have more luck with Bitter Lime? It worked better for me..
