I was outside feeding the squirrels I have left in the release cages their lunch when I saw one
of my past release squirrels come hopping along the privacy fence looking for some food...

I could not tell exactly who or which squirrel HE was, but I could tell that he was one of mine
and that he had been away for a while...... he looked healthy over all except he was to SKINNY
for my liking and diffidently did not look big and husky like most of my males do when I release them.

What can I personally do to help get some healthy weight back on him?

I put out water for my squirrels in the yard water with DE, diatomaceous earth flour, which hopefully is helping with not only the fleas, but also the internal worms, But this time of year, I do notice that alot of the squirrels seem so much skinnier, but I think it's just the winter coats being gone.

It's breeding time here so he may just be wearin him self out!! But that will settle down! Just give access to lots of food !! I found that some of my kids lost their baby fat when I put them in the release cage b.c of all the energy they burned!!

Where is the best place to purchase it from?

I buy DE diatomaceous earth from Earth Works. My dogs get it sprinkled on their food and we never have fleas or worms. It is human grade...great stuff. I bought a 10lb bag not knowing so now I have a life time supply.:rotfl

I put out block and veggies everyday for my releases and yard crew. I figure if anyone is hungry they can come home to squammy.

I bought 50 lbs. I have used it for fleas for my dog for years now, but just started this season putting it in water for the squirrels to help with fleas and also with internal worms. IT's tasteless, as I also do it... so it's easy to take.

the shipping of de tends to be expensive, almost the same as the de costs, but it's still cheap if you figure per day costs. I bought 50 lbs, 5 lbs, and 2.5 lbs , and the shipping still costs as much as the DE.
it has many uses though, spraying house plants for aphids, or using for pesticide of unwanted ants, fleas, ticks, ec ec ec ....it makes a nice face mask , good to use to brush your teeth, good for dogs, cats, horses, squirrels, ec ...

So you can't go wrong with it.

I have even hear of peeps sprinkling it on their carpet and walking on it then vacuuming up to get the dirt out.

Shipping is the same as the product. But it is still cheap.
