Well, after my recent loss, I'm really wanting another shot to help an animal in need. If anyone has any ideas I will PM my location. I've had experience with babies just havn't had the best of luck and I'm looking to change that. :Love_Icon

My guess would be
a) if you see anyone on here that maybe in 'your neck of the woods', to PM them and let them know you 'want in'!:D

b) volunteer with a local wildlife center

each state has their own laws as to the procedure to become a licensed rehabber...ck with fish and game.

This is awesome news...the little ones will be happy to know they tattooed your heart forever!:Love_Icon
Never enough 'helpers'!

I'm in the Mobile Alabama area, where it is illegal to own squirrels as pets but legal to rehibilitate upon release. My last 2 squirrels I got from the local wild life center, I'm going to try to volunteer again if I can find the number. But if anyone on here sees this and is near me and needs to hand a baby off let me know! :tilt

Are you looking to just raise babies to release or are you looking to find a "pet" squirrel? You had said previously that you were looking for ways to tame lilly and lewis. If a pet is what you really want there are many non releasable squirrels (some with expensive needs, intensive care and some just needing specialized housing) wanting and needing a loving forever (5-15 years)home.

If you find yourself unwilling to release healthy babies then this might be the way for you. This time of year there are many NR's that are still very young and they would still imprint with you.

Just a thought.

Yeah, at one point I wanted to keep them, When I got Lilly and Lewis I was in an awkward living situation and had no pets, so I really didn't like to think about loosing the companionship. I'm 2 years older now and 2 years wiser. :D If someone needed to find a home for an unreleasable baby I'd be willing to give a forever home. But I'm not neccesarily looking for a "pet". If I found or received a healthy baby I'd have no problem releasing when the time came.
