Regurgitated bugs from the mother. I know it sounds gross, but that is what they eat.
If she has some dry cat food, she can soften that up really good and give that to him with a tweezers.
Mealworms, grubs and ants. They also eat berries and fruit.
OK...I just saw the picture. If you contact her, tell her that its dangerous to have a bird out that can fly, he might get startled and fly into the window. Better to close all of the shades/curtains...

Yes, or dog food too. Also she can soft boil an egg [or "scramble" in the microwave] and when cool give little pieces of this as well. Great protein. Every 30 mins, sun up to sun down. :D

This is her AD..... so it looks like she has the cat food thing down pack - Maybe someone can CALL HER?
I Have a baby woodpecker and want your experience on how and what you know.
I been feeding mine soaked cat food, than i spiced it with fishing worms, and some meal worms.
About 1 to 1 1/2 hours apart I think its a she but not sure, can you tell how old it is?
when and how do i teach it to fly and when do I release?
If you know any of these answers call me...
its took to my shoulder now and seems to be happier than in the cage

Never, ever feed fishing worms - the only bird I know that can eat earthworms like that are robins. They cause a syndrome called "gape" which is what they will do...until they die. Mealworms, waxworms - all of the "worms" that aren't really worms are fine

Okay I'm so sorry I didn't see this sooner it just one of those days
Got 3 nestling wrens I. That were suppose to be mourning doves
So I'm feeding every 20 minutes
If someone could contact here she really should take it to a Rehabber
Plain bugs are not enough and they have to be dusted with calcium and avian vitamins, I would feed the revised 2011 Fons diet also
Gape worm is a nasty parasite and even robins can get it
I only feed worms that I buy from uncle jims worm farm
I get the red wigglers and I only feed them to robins and starlings , woodcocks eat them too
Sorry I didn't really read the as I try tmrw right mow I gotta go feed AGIAN!

Please remind her not to put the baby on a towel or anything with loops. Their tongues can/will get stuck on the towel loops and it will kill them . I have seen this happen at the wildlife center where I volunteered. A vol. cleaned the cage and put in a towel and baby was dead a few hours later. Line cage with sheet or pillow case material. I didn't see the picture but just a caution.
