Hi everyone, I am new here! I have just adopted two little flying squirrels... from two different people who couldnt keep them for different reasons... anyhow, I LOVE these lil guys... now I am having a really hard time with their gender... can anyone help??? The ons I got first is a boy FOR SURE! You can clearly see testicles there... the other one doesnt have those at all.... but its got a little pink thing on its belly... is that just its belly button?!?! LOL I don't know! anyways... Would he/she have a package like the other one if it was a boy?! Thank you!

welcome to tsb.... :Welcome

i just noticed you've got 2 baby flyers....

so i'll introduce you to the flyer forum.....

http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=93

you'll probably find more help there because in general (grey) squirrel people don't know flyers very well....

flyer diet (much higher protein/worms/insects etc...) than reg squirrels....

also if yours are babies the formula choice is fox valley ....

but there's a wealth of information .... on the flyer forums....

(although ofcourse you are most welcome all over the board... but just to guide you to where you'll probably be most helped with flyers)

the most knowledgeable people off the top of my head are:

mrs skul (crystal) (dyslexic) but she welcomes phone calls.... (i was going to pm you her number but you can't accept pms right now... cause you're new)....

if you want email me.... click on the gs1 next to the picture and you'll have my email...

anyway ... introducing mrs skul... :D

wishing you all the best....

ps: ... talk to mrs skul if you want to about not breeding flyers.... hers are always in heat or breeding (behind her back) ... she's had to release several on judys property as young ones...(judy has colonies of them and they integrate into those colonies)....

it's very hard to find responsible people for flyers or any animal.... flyers are very delicate... we've had stories of them being crushed ... sat on (were on cushions etc..) ..crushed on top of doors... one was in a pile of laundry and got killed in the washing machine... so many drown in toilets... (there's a metal... hygenic ladder ... you can get that is attached to the inside of the bowl....

and many also die because their owners didn't know the squirrel needed high amounts of protein.....

ofcourse accidents do happen to everyone ... even responsible people... but flyers are so delicate ....

wishing you all the best.....:D
