No food but fresh water might be good. However if he is injured internally it would be bad. I would think he is not injured internally if he is that angry. So maybe a small amount of water.

What's new pussycat? whoa-whoa-whoatinfoil
Virgo would fall in love. My, what big ears you have for a little man. :rotfl
He is calm thanks to RR....and I am calm thanks to, oh, never mind.:hidechair
Anyway, he has had homemade pedialyte and literally one drop of metacam. I do not have a scale so.......I have picked him up twice, manipulated the legs and arms. He pulls back when I touch his legs BUT, they are both quite limp and the tail is too:shakehead
His eyes are somewhat glazed - shock maybe? He is in Tickle's night cage (Wingabago) with fleece and has snuggled into that. Heating pad, half on,half off and in darkened guest room.
How often do I give him the homemade pedialyte? Should I offer any food? Balls/blocks, veggies, fruit ??
He doesn't seem to be an older squirrel but I only have experience with Tickle :dono He's def a little boy, smallish "package".
We are in the middle of a cookout and both moms are testing my last good nerve......I left the DH with them as we took off to pick up this little guy - hubby called 9 minutes after I left:rotfl :rotfl
Anyway, I will be checking on him again shortly so any help, please post and hopefully it will come to my phone. I will not be near the computer again for at least an hour.
Anne - you have my heart ya know. Take care of YOU and call me if I can help you.:Love_Icon :Love_Icon

Glazed eyes stress, shock, pain, fear any or all of these.
I check in on new kids every hour or two offer water and something to eat. For the first few days any food he will eat is good.
As soon as it is dark bed him down leave a shallow water dish, some nuts, a wet fruit.(watermelon, corn, grapes) cover him and leave him until the sun comes up. Now if he starts making any noises you can check then, I try to let them rest as undisturbed as possible their first night.

if I email the pics to someone...you can post them for me...
this guy was stuck on the bumper of a car for 7 miles I was told...
way to go TMom..
he may not want anything til tomorrow...as far as eating...
I would however put pecan without shell and with shell ..
some mulberry or maaple/sweet gum oe oak branches..
he may need some thing to chew for the pain...
I am guess ing from pics a pound...that's a safe guess.
also grape, bowl of water and if possible syringe feed some molasses water or pancake syrup water,,,heavy sugar for shock...
def a grey sq...
do you know what strength metacam?
0.5 or 1.5mg/ml
thank you:Love_Icon

He's a sweetheart thus far.....he comes to the front of the carrier and looks around but if I open the door all the way, he gets under the fleece. I have given him more homemade pedialyte and pancake syrup water. He is not dehydrated at all. His tail DOES curl up on his back:thumbsup When I hold him, he holds the syringe and stares at me, making me feel like he's about to make a run for it. :D He can grip my fingers with his left foot and it's colder than the right, which he cannot grip with. :dono
I have a small crock of water, apple, blueberries, ball, block, shelled pecan and a whole almond in shell in his carrier.
I feel like I should check on him during the night - any thoughts on that or just as lilidukes advised, cover him and leave him alone?

Good job TM!!!
I usually don't bother squirrels after dark, unless they need something
like hydration or medication that can't wait til the morning.
Their nature is to hunker down and it would probably stress him to have light or sounds or you :D disturbing him.

My vet is off today and tomorrow - so I just brought him into work with me. He is drinking and peeing but no poop yet. I am thinking he was kinda "empty" by the time he got off of that bumper:D
He had not eaten anything I put in his carrier except the pecan pieces. When I walked into his room this morning, he put his tail on his back and put his head under the fleece. I rubbed his cheeks and head, then picked him up to change the fleece. He didn't fight me - yet.
So, vet will be back on Wednesday. Any suggestions until then or keep on doing what I'm doing?
I have the lights off in my office but I do have a window and he's watching me watch him. I keep telling him, "I see you see me see you". :wave123

With the metacam push fluids, fluids, fluids. For a few days don't worry about nutrition as much as intake. Try the pecan Ensure, I like to add a little yogurt to it and syringe feed. Got to take care of the kidneys and liver.
Proud of you TM. :thumbsup

Dark and hard poop is normal for a wild.
glad the ensure was a success.
If the scab is not blocking his nostrils and looks clean I myself would just leave it alone. Though I would keep an eye on it.

I keep meaning to post - been slammed with work and MIL issues.
Scram/Knotch is fine. I have him in a larger cage and he can climb but his legs and arms are not that strong. He tried to bite after a day in the new cage but hasn't tried to since then. I give him calcium, vitamins in his diluted Ensure. I have been talking with another member here who would like him if he is a true NR, which I believe he is - it's going to take one heck of a train to get him to her, but she has expressed a deep desire to care for him.
He eats but not as much as I would like - I'm used to Tickle eating just about anything you put in front of her. He won't touch vegetables but he still gets them daily. He also gets balls/blocks and he does nibble on those.
I hold him at least three times a day for lovins and I can rub his cheeks. That's about it - oh, he has the TV on in his room all day and he is in front of a bedroom window so he can see out.
