t I am looking for homes for some of my nonreleasables. We are in very bad times as we took in my 16 yr old nephew. I am even considering stopping rehabbing as it takes too long for me to be reimbursed back with my cost and I cant keep taking from my family.
MEaty 8-9 months female- Had nasal trauma, not proper care when little, maloclussion but since her last clipping they seems okay. She does back flips over and over then lays down and you see her head bobble, she seems to really enjoy it and relaxes when she does it.
two boys that MUST stay together
Solomon, one eye mentally retarted sweet guy that cannot be held, has no deptperception, and runs in circles.
Sparky, is just not right. When he was placed in release caging he stayed in a corner for over a day just screaming at any movement. He hates other squirrels EXCEPT Solomon. They force each other to be still and groom. You will hear a lot of bitching but they never hurt each other. Its our little homosexual squirrel romance.
Possible releasable Otter, she is so loving at 16 weeks I can manhandle her and she doesnt fight. She just started showing signs of fear from strangers. Her siblings are released but still sweet. She will let me cuddle her.
I will NEVER get rid of Savannah, she is my husbands baby.
No caging avaialable with these.
I do not have the gas to meet or take her so please do not ask. I have spent my last few months trying to get any govt help but we fall through some stupid cracks. I am weary and we are depressed from all the begging I am doing for my family just to eat, I cant do it anymore and know my family suffers. I no longer have cable or a home phone and my cell will get shut off soon. So please contact by email at heathertedrick@hotmail.com, my wonderful neighbor is letting me use thier internet. I am not looking for handouts, just homes for they sweet babies that I love.

I saw your post and was hoping someone would come forward to offer their help.
I have two NRs and a third is coming in June. I would consider taking Meaty if I had enough caging. I just do not have enough funding right now to build yet another pen. I have smaller pens but I refuse to put full grown squirrels in a small enclosure. I don't feel as though it is fair to them.
I know there was someone on the board who was specifically looking for a NR. I can't remember who it was now though.
I wish you luck in finding the right person to take your NRs. I know how hard it must be to be forced to get rid of them. :grouphug

I care too. It sounds like you are having one h**l of a hard time right now, financially. My partner won't let me have any squirrels at all, and I live in New England, but I DO care. I care about you AND your squirrels. A lot of the rehabbers are super busy right now with babies. NaturesGift just signed off for a while because she can't even keep up. Just hang on while we try to find placements.

Thanks JLM. We are moving in the next week to a new (new to us) home. Once we get settled we can begin to work on getting the one NR to us (squirrel train from Tx). Once that little girl is settled I can turn my attention to another. Right now we don't have a place for any of us but our lives will settle soon.
I'll let you know if/when the time comes for help. :thankyou

I am checking with our volunteers - to see who has room, I have 3 cages left that are not full. One could be for a NR, the others would have to be temporary. I am currently unable to help with maloclusion clippings, but I will see what we can do. We are in full opposum season here, with a duck a nd a baby blue Jay - hope to release the duck today - that will free up another cage.

If anyone can take one, we will see what we can do about helping with transportation.

I cannot offer to take any...already grudgingly have 4 NR's :D
I'll be keeping an eye out for the outcome.
Willing to help with transport or other needs to get them where they need to.
Sounds like a few are potential releases though, in the right care.
Hoping someone that can work with them to try for release can give it a shot.:poke
Heather, I have no idea what I would have done without your help last year(?) I will see if I can get some donations for gas money, my vehicle has no A/C and we are battling health issues here. I will take them all and thanks to a wonderful special friend, we have cages. The boys will be kept together since they are so bonded. I will find loving homes for all or keep them here myself.
Money is one of the things that there just never is enough here at my house, but we've got time and love out the wazoo. Sending you an email too. Hang in there!:grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :Love_Icon :Love_Icon :Love_Icon :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug

Anne will take them and either find them homes or keep them. If she is willing to take them it will give me time to get into my new place and get things set up to help out if need be.
Talk to Anne. She might just need help in getting them to her. Her car runs but doesn't have working A/C.

If gas money is needed, maybe an email for a pay pal acct.? I am happy to contribute. I'm sure others are too.
Lots of love and prayers to one and all. These are hard times when animal lovers have to part with their loved ones... :grouphug

I'm not horribly far from Belleview, n fact it's in my normal work area. If a squirrel train is needed I can put in a leg of the trip.
Choo-choo people, load a train and get these guys to us. Large bag of romaine , avocado and sweet potato waiting for hungry mouths.:jump :jump

Sorry ... this old F.A.R.T. member is packing up a house and moving.
Heather's home town is Joplin, MO. She is busy with rescue efforts there, helping by emails and phone. I finally got a hold of her by email after days of unanswered emails, etc. Was very worried when she didn't show you here with squirrels. Apparently Heather is so busy helping with Joplin that she is unable to transport the squirrels and has been able to hand them over to one of her local volunteers. Still room at the Inn if needed.:dono

Well I'm glad something worked out for her if she found someone else.
I thought it was strange she never replied to any of the offers of help.
I guess we will stand by if any other help is needed. :thumbsup

Yes yes my offer was and is firm. I'm happy to transport. Just have to wiggle it into all my other stuff. I work a couple or so days a week and usually have at least a booking or two on weekends but I can usually find some time if folks can be a bit flexible.
I am willing to take the squirrels at any time, and I am all about flexible.:D Money is tight here always, but time and love- we have plenty!:thumbsup Hope things work out for Heather, think it is wonderful that she is trying to help pets in Joplin.
