I'm trying to fatten up Knothead.....He's a little thin in the waist....I can feel his backbone even though he does not look skinny I want him fat and happy.
Now don't say Pizza and Beer because it worked for me:rotfl
Ya know maybe he is just a small squirrel....And also if you remember about 8 months ago he lost the hair on his tail....Any nutritional food I can give him to help that tail grow back in? He use to have the mose beautiful fluffy tail
He gets HHB'S and fattening produce like Avacado and Sweet Potatoes but still appears to be a little on the thin side

I use Ensure for Tickle - but you can overdo it so....she was taking 16 syringes and wanting more. :nono
She now gets two syringes every other day AFTER HER BATH and curses me out if I'm late :poke

I am following this thread as I would like to see a little more heft on Scrat as well...she is just not as chunky as other squirrels i see here..and really does not eat as much as I see on plates others fix for their squirrels. Did the ensure help put weight on? She is not wanting her FV any more- so all she gets of that is what is in BooBalls

Rachel tells me that Bean is a little fatty and spoiled rotten. I think it is because the kids are slipping him snacks between meals.

Just becuase the plates are piled high with food does not mean they eat all of it:rotfl Kothead never eats all his veggies most of them end up on the floor. I pile his up so he can dig through it:rotfl At the end of the day the majority of veggies goes to the compost pile

Christine had a little rat tail several months ago. Next to no fur at all! I changed two things & I'm not sure which one was the factor or if they both did. I switched her to the juvenile HHBs (yes, she is a 2 y/o old adult), 2/day, sometimes 3, and I got her a repti sun light that sits above the top floor of her cage. http://www.animalworldnetwork.com/-097612343360.html
Can't help with the chunk up. Miss C is pleasantly plump without much help from me. :tilt

4S, I believe you saw her in Jax in January. There was practically nothing left.
Now, she practically trips over her sexy tail! :Love_Icon
The first pic is St. Patty's Day, when I realized it really was growing back. The second pic, I just took today.

It's a before & after for HHB's Juvie Blocks for Tail Club! :rotfl
Sammy, her tail looked so bad in the fall/winter that I avoided taking pictures of it. Felt like I was doing something wrong & was embarrassed that I had let her down. Imagine a rat tail (practically naked down to her back side with just a few tufts of fur). It was not pretty.

I'm still using the 12/08 revision. I use only pecan meal. I use Now Whey Protein Isolate. The only thing that I add is one tablespoon of honey. And, of course, I use the updated vitamin chart that you did last year (I think).
I've tried the other revisions, but this is the one that Teddy & Christine will eat with consistency. In fact, Christine growls at me when I give them to her. She can't wait for me to let go! :thumbsup

I added a little coconut oil (organic) to the boo balls when Meggie lost almost all the hair on her tail. It grew in thick and beautiful ... she also filled out nicely. Now she is slightly fluffy.

Instead of the light....he is in a Sunroom how about I move him back to the South end of the room where he will get the most sunlight...I moved him to the north end about a year ago....I will have to cover part of his cage because that side gets to much light

Maybe his tail got sunburned??? Seems unlikely but you never know. Tails seem to be an indicator of general health but I'm not sure how accurate that is. Certainly they can strip the hair mechanically by accident.
Based on my observation It seems to take a season to recover unless the hair was pulled out by the roots. Then it starts growing back immediately if they are not stressed and in good health.
I think anything you can butter or soak an HHB with will help fatten him up.
See if you can find Nutrical or even better, Nutri-STAT by Tomlyn...has the omega vits and comes in a 4.25 oz tube.
Squirt it into a 10cc dosing syringe from CVS and administer 1/2 -1cc or so daily.

Please kiss those little feetsies for me if you can do it safely. I loved watching Knotty's love bites on your arm. Do you think he has a bit of vampire in him? He seems to like the taste of your blood. (I'm reading A Discovery of Witches right now, so I have vampires on the brain.)
