Our outside cat just had a litter of 3 kittens, I went on vacation for a couple of days and came back to one of them dead and another very sick. I tried rehydrating the sick baby but it couldn't even swallow so I made it comfortable as it passed. There is one kitten left and I've come to the conclusion that the mother is neglecting them, so I have the baby with me, she's in the 2 week range I beleive. I'd like to know others opinions on her age, and maybe some care suggestions, can I give her a warm bath to get rid of the fleas? how often should I feed her? :thankyou

NO BATH! Flea powder or Revolution. Water will chill her too much. Warm blankets with heating pad on low under them. KMR formula is available at most pet supply stores. Warm in a bottle that is also available at the same type of store.

:thinking Adams in the blue bottle makes a good/decent safe flea product line for kittens. Most pet stores carry it.
Thank you for helping

Please becareful when using revolution on a kitten this tiny. KMR is a good choice, and depending on how healthy she looks right now, I would feed every 3 hours in small incriments until her body adjusts to the formula, start with diluted. I added heavy whipping cream and yogurt to my KMR, which swenws to give them a little more fat. Every kitten I've ever bottle fed decides they're own schedule once they get the hang of it. Every 3-4 hours should get you started as of right now. My kittens loved fleece, and a heating pad on low - half on and half off. Also, I would keep him/her in a quiet area. If she is in a carrier, I would keep the carrier partially covered to keep out direct light. Also, stimulate it to potty, but don't be alarmed if you dont get a #2 right away.

Hope this helps, I've done numerous litters of kittens. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

And he/she sure is cute!!

Try a syringe with a mothering nipple, you can use a 3cc syringe if you have one. Also, try the formula at different temps. I had a kitten who would only drink it if it was scorching hot, and one who like it room temp. Try a tad warmer than luke warm, and it might take a little bit for it to adjust to the KMR. Are you using powdered or premixed KMR? And are you adding anything to it?

If you are near me I have a momma who might foster. She has 2 kittens in that age range and is amazing with them.
