A friend's husband just brought this young one to me. He found him on the ground at work. Fiesty little thing, but I'm pretty sure he's too young to be on his own yet. Still has fluff around the eyes & I can see the shafts of his wings.

Anyone in Central Florida that can take him? I've never raised a bird in my life that didn't come from a pet store. If nothing else, can someone tell me what to do with him?

Looks like a grackel to me...

Until you can find someone to take him, keep him warm
(heating pad under the bin will work).

The rehabber I volunteer with takes them but I'm not sure if
she's accepting any new critters as of today (she tends to get full).

I can take him for a few days until we find someone who can rehab him
that has others of his kind.

I am working until 9pm but if you PM me your number I can call you
with some basic care instructions or work out if we can meet.
I don't remember where you live, I'm in Orlando.

Nope, not a crow.:shakehead Must certainly not old enough to be away from Mom. Poor baby-I know nothing about birds. I could trade several coons though.tinfoil

That's def a grackle, raised loads of them!
Funny little buggers be prepared to get screamed at! Lol
Feed him blueberries to get him hydrated
Don't crush them, if they are big just 1/4 or 1\2 them
He needs to be fed about every 1/2 hour sun up to sun down
I do recommend he go to a Rehabber because he is a single bird and should be in with others if his species, they are similar to crows, if he doesn't speak grackle when he is released the wild guys will beat him up, not accept him and possibly kill him
Until then he should be raised on the revised 2011 Fons diet or order mazuri insectivore diet

Thanks, psychobird. I've got some frozen blueberries, so I'll thaw some out.
I'm trying to ease away from squirrels for awhile, so I certainly don't want to start with birds. Haven't got the time to be honest. Hopefully, DJ & I can hook up to pass him off to her rehabber friend.

Awesome, let me tell u it's nearly impossible for a single Rehabber to do mammals and birds at the same time
If u have more than a few of each, the birds will always suffer , feedings will be missed because mammals take so much longer to feed
