He is always the first to pounce on me and play with me, but not for the last 3 days. Yesterday I looked him over carefully, and two of his claws on both back feet (one one each) have almost been ripped out. He must have been goofing off with the others and somehow got his nails caught in something... maybe the metal braces that keep the cage from collapsing.
They are split right down to his toes, and I can see the red quick exposed. It might help to trim the part that is sticking up from his toe, but it would hurt as there is probably live tissue in it, still. He let me inspect his feet, but cautiously. You know how they are.... I think his toes are swollen because they seem rigid when I move them, but I don't think they are broken because he allowed that and only yelped when I touched the nails gently. He still hops around carefully and will scratch himself a little with his back paws but does not want to grasp anything with his back feet. He tries to hop between flat surfaces.
So, what should I do to help?
