I found a baby squirrel yesterday - not sure how old, his eyes are open and he has fur. He was sneezing a lot but seemed okay during the night. I took him in and got him warm and hydrated.

About a half hour ago I noticed he was breathing weird - very quickly, and there's a clicking noise.

Is this pneumonia? I have the names of a couple of wildlife rehabilitators that I was planning on taking him to anyway if they'll take him, but I won't have a car until after 3:00 this afternoon.

At the moment, I have him in the bathroom with the shower on to see if the steam helps. He's sleeping and is more lethargic than he was when I found him yesterday, but he is still moving around.

Is there anything else I can do? Will he be okay until I can get him somewhere this afternoon?

Thanks!

I looked all over, but I don't have any antibiotics in the house.

I'm pretty sure the clicks are with every breath.

I'm in Gloucester County, south Jersey, about 20-25 minutes away from Philadelphia.

I may be able to drive halfway, but again, not til this afternoon...

I'll see about calling the ones that I found earlier to see if they can take him. I'm fairly certain that one takes squirrels, not sure about the other.

Yep, I have a heating pad under half of the box, although atm he's decided that sleeping on my arm is more comfortable :D Still breathing oddly and making the clicking noise, but he seems alright... For now, is there anything I can do for him?

I got in contact with a wildlife rehabilitator, who said to take him to an animal hospital, where she'd pick him up. Hopefully he'll be okay!

Thanks for your help Jackie! :thankyou
