Skeeter is an 8 month old Gray Squirrel that I have had since he was 1 week old. He has been healthy since, but I believe something is seriously wrong. I originally posted here http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28101 but his condition has gotten much worse over the past day. He is now barely moving, just laying in his temporary bed that I made him. He will drink but won't eat. His eyes have crusty blood around the edges. Does anyone know of a rehabber or vet in the boston/ northshore of MA area that would be willing to help, even if they will take him away, I just want to know that they won't euthenize him or something because he has lived with humans.

Please, any information would be appreciated ASAP.

I just got off the phone with a rehabber in my area who is referring me to her sister who is a vet at a local hospital.

I'll keep everybody posted

:grouphug Any News on Skeeter?
I am praying for you both Ehelm. CM918

PS
Ehelm you never said how his Calcium intake is!
What Vegatables does he eat?
What about Nuts or Acorns?
Some times mine will stash some veg chunks.
When I find it it is nasty.
Now I check every night or morning. :thumbsup

Dropped him off at the Tufts university wildlife clinic tonight. Won't see him again, but they said I can call and see how he is. I'm sure going to miss my little friend. :(
All I can hope is that he makes a full recovery, and they will try to release him.

Thanks everyone for all the support and advice.

Chances are they will do what they can.
I know for a fact that some of the most hardcore rehab centers will push what they can to save a life.

Know that what you did is what was right for him.

I will ask Jodi, a rehabber who is very in with the people at Tufts to try to get info on him for you. I wish I had seen your post earlier to try to help you. Thank you for taking care of this sweet baby. If I find anything out, I will let you know.

Real love is letting go. You earned your halo when you gave your baby up for his own good. Huge hugs. Know your heart is broken. Good vibes for Skeeter. Hope he'll be in the trees soon.
