About a week ago I took in an orphaned baby squirrel that was dying from hunger and dehydration. He's doing very good now and dosent appear to have any diseases. He did have some mites in his fur so I bathed him with dishsoap and that seemed to take care of the problem. I have 2 other squirrels that Ive raised since birth and they are over a year old now. My question is, when can I introduce the new baby to my older ones??? Do I still need to be concerned about disease even though the new baby's outward appearance is healthy??

I would hold off any introduction until the baby is a lot older (2 mths) and can take better care of him self.... and I would defiantly wait and make sure the mites are truly gone and that they do not turn into mange like mine did (i ended up having to treat 7 of my 12 squirrels).
Please take note that not all squirrels will take to another squirrel.... that could mean your older squirrels may not welcome the baby into their life.

He looks like he's around 2 months old now. I definetly agree about the mites! Maybe another couple of dishsoap baths and Ill know theyre gone for sure.:thankyou

In many cases you will need to treat with 1 drop of kitten Revolution to get rid of Mites, Mange or Fleas on a Squirrel..... as they often appear to be gone then you feel the grit and crust again.
