I just learned the boys penis is higher on the belly and sacks under it, such as Dale. Chip (who I thought was a boy) has a tiny v shaped thingy very close to her tooshy. I believe he is a she.. any thoughts? I just wish she would stop latching on to Dale.. poor baby.. Neosporin is not working, she just sucks right through it.. Stressed out of my mind. Nidia:shakeheadPlease know that Neosporin is not used to stop a squirrel from suckling another squirrel - it is used to help heal any wound made from the suckle. Separation is the best treatment plan to stop the sucking until the squirrels are old enough to stop on their own (unless the sucking is due to hunger) - or you can try the pillow ideal like I did... it really worked.

Carolyn: Thanks for your comment. I understand what neosporin uses are for. I am using it to heal his pee pee, however hoping to deter chip from sucking. but it’s not working. What about the pillow? I try the sock, put Dale in his own little section and she seems to find him. Tomorrow I plan on purchasing another cage.. separation is the only answer at this point, his pee pee is going to fall off that poor thing.

would she get depressed if I separate them? they still will stay in the same spaces, just separate dens.. does this explain why she is so temperamental? Dale is soo affectionate, loves attention, she much prefers not to be held..???

All you can do is try and see what happens, she may be alright with it as long as she can still see him.
Seperating them for Dale's sake is a good idea for now, he needs some wee wee rest. :D
From a lot of what I've read it seems males are a lot calmer and more affectionate then the females but I can't say I have the experence to really judge that.
