Hi there, I am new to TSB and still fumbling my way around....
My name is Marcia (Marsha) & I'm in St. petersburg, FL. I started rehabbing 4-5 years ago as the result of a neurotic momma who spent days on end moving her babies back and forth. Eventually they all ended up on the ground and abandoned. I had ZERO clue as to the care of the little pinkies. Everything the pet store told and sold me was 100% wrong and luckily I found a rehabber before any treatment was started. She taught me well and trusted me to take over. Those 4 are still living happily free with many kids of their own.
The more I tried to get out of rehabbing, the more babies showed up at my door. They have become my passion and I'm miserable when I'm empty nesting lol.
I joined TSB 2 weeks ago while trying to solve some nutritional issues with my current 2. First time this has happened. Came to discover that just when I thought I had a clue....I didn't know squat! I bought the ingredients and made the Squirrel Cakes....1st batch was a disaster...2nd batch came out perfect! Too bad the kids were'nt crazy about them. Bought a batch from Pete's Healthy Snacks thru your links and they love them!! The blocks coupled with the change I made in their diet has brought on an improvement nothing short of phenomenal and they are soo happy and healthy. We finally have perfect poo!! :wahoo
I never thought in a week's time I would be posting an emergency Pox cry for help. Our poor little boy was in horrible condition and this was my 1st Pox experience. So Tragic...Thanks to all of you wonderful peeps, I had immediate responses, PMs, posts, phone calls and so much support, incoming knowledge, experience, links and an overwhelming amount of imformation and help. After he passed we were blessed with the most beautiful words of comfort and understanding. I was certainly not alone during this crisis...nor was he. Thank you all so much.
My current 2 are....Weeza (the WORST case of Pneumonia EVER) Soeone found her and decided to try to raise her. Aspirated her every time she was fed (the wrong formula) and then force fed her a bananna. Still can't believe she survived it all....although I'm still fighting mold in my bathroom from 13 straight days of the humidifier and hot steamy showers every 2 hours. And #2 baby girl is "Spazzo"....my hubby named her and it certainly fits....hahaha.
Well, this is turning into quite the novel so I'll wrap up. Just wanted to introduce myself, thank you all so VERY much and hope that you know how much you are appreciated.....what an amazing community and thank you for allowing to to take part in it....
