Just picked up a 4 week old black squirrel, has fleas..gave him a bath with some dawn but I have frontline for my dogs..can I dose him with that and how much? Ugh, I didnt even stock up on supplys either! I have a little formula left and maybe one good syringe, looks like I'll be placing orders!
Frontline for my dogs is all 40-60 pounds. Ick,I hate fleas!!

Oh please don't put that stuff on your baby! A good bath will take care of the fleas and at 4 weeks an overdose could kill the little guy. I don't know about Frontline but there's been one death attributed to Revolution--the correct dose. I just wouldn't take a chance. Experts?

I would not put frontline on ANY squirrel, but definitely not a 4-wk old. The Dawn should do it....repeat the wipedown if necessary. I have had finders kill babies before they could get them to me because they insisted on Frontlining them "before I put it in my car" :shakehead:soapbox

Four weeks seems a bit young.
You might concider a flea comb.

BTW, we have never had an issue with Revolution.

ive just read conflicting things on here, some say frontline is okay, some dont. ill stick to the dawn and water, i dont want anything bad to happen.

You will need to continue with the Dawn dish soap wash if the fleas stay around until your little one is at least 8 weeks old..... then IF needed you can get a tube of liquid kitten Revolution for your local vet and place one drop between its shoulder blade. Please do not use any thing, but DAWN on any baby Squirrel under 8 weeks of age with out a vets approval.
