I believe those are ok. I have fed them to my squirrels with some success.....you need to really use 'tough love' and not give them yummy things at the same time because they will not touch the blocks if you do.

I had to grind them down add greens and some other stuff and re-bake them to get LB to eat them. I was wondering if I was losing any nutrition by doing this. Normally she gets the primate blocks because that was what was recommended to me at the time but the place I get them from ran out and we had to make do with these until we got another shipment of her regular blocks.

Have you tried Harlan Teklad rat blocks? I know they sell them online at the crafty rat. www.thecraftyrat.com

I have not tried them yet. I hear good things about it. She loves the primate block and I guess I will just have to buy the extra large bag next time they are in stock. I don't want to mess with her food too much. She loves the blocks I make for her I just don't want them to lose nutrients by baking them.

If you bake them at LOW temp - no more than 225F - the nutrients should be unharmed.

Those should do fine as a brand from your local pet store.... I personally like the HT Rodent Block #2018 from "The Crafty Rat" a website online.

That's what I use. I prefer them as well. You know what they say about great minds. :D
