my name is jen and i wanted to join in here because i have an 8 month old squirrel. hes the love of my life (other than my daughter lol) i raised him since he was about 4 weeks old. my brother found him hanging out of tree screaming bloody murder because his mother went missing and he must have got out of his nest, so my brother brought him home and hes been my baby ever since. we knew something must have happened to his mother because the next day his brother and sister were found dead in the pool and she was still nowhere to be found :(

here are some pics of my little scoundrel lol

welcome to TSB..
I love the pics, especially the one of him on the chair..looks like he is saying, 'HEY, stop and get my breakfast":D
I love the belly up pics too, my favorites!

I hate to be the bad guy here, but I see him standing on a tub of corn and seed...
That is NOT SQ FOOD!!!!!!:nono
Corn is high in phosphorus and depletes calcium. So is black seed, these are great treats for your outsiders, as they get good naturals in the wild.
If captive sqs eat this as their diet, they WILL get MBD for sure!
Metabolic bone disease is a common issue with sqs fed bad diets in captivity.
It is basiclly a lack of calcium.
Good nutrition is very complex, my advise is to see the sticky on healthy diet.

PS, feed that corn to the crows, they will keep the hawks away!:thumbsup

Thank you for helping the little 'scoundrel'!:Love_Icon

thanks, ill get rid of it today.
my mom saw it at a feed store so figured it would be ok for him. but now its starting to make sense because hes been losing some fur on both sides where the hips are and the first thing i thought of was its because of his diet. im gonna go up to the store and get some rodent block today.
other than that corn mix he eats fruits, nuts and veggies and acorns and pine cones from outside
