I have a friend that posted this on Facebook...
...found the dog playing with a teeny tiny little squirrel that got knocked out of the tree by wind. He's breathing, but not moving a whole lot. Not sure what to do with him. He won't survive outside with the 14 cats running around the neighborhood. Any suggestions on what to do with it? Anyone want to come get him and bring him to good health? Hubby says he has to go tonight :(
Is there anyone close to this area that can take care of this baby???!!!
*Adm...if this needs to be moved elsewhere, please do so...I just want someone to help this baby!! Thanks!

First thing that needs to be done is get him warm, heating pad low heat.
Can you get your friend to get on this board and post info about the situation? It would make it a lot eaiser to collect information and get help.
she has to keep him warm in a plastic box with fleece or an old tshirt...
a heating pad that does not switch off ...half under the box...
she shouldn't feed or water him at all until he's really warm ... but i'll wait for someone else to advise on that .... just no food or water at all right now...for the next ten mins ...until someone advises.... you must never feed a cold baby.
how old is the squirrel...
photos?
rianna i apologise if you already knew all the above.:D

Not sure of the city but she's near Warner Robins? I think! lol
I've advised her to warm the baby up and to not give him any milk. I told her to hang tight before she did anything else, until we could get more advice from here.
I've sent her a message and asked her to either describe the size or either take a picture and send it to me. I'm waiting on a response from her now.
I will try and see if she will come to the board. It may take a while to hear back from her.
Thanks to you both!!

Poor little baby, sounds like a mission for the f.a.r.t. team... :poke
she probably has to hydrate for 24 hours before she can give any formula at all.... and then it will either be jackies goat milk recipe or fox valley ... they're the only 2 that i'd recommend...
hopefully we'll find a rehabber for her soon....

Praying for this baby. :grouphug
I'm in SC and I mapped Bonaire, GA and it's 5 hours away. If no one is closer to help the baby, I can try to meet someone. I have fox valley on hand if that helps.

Here's her latest messgae...
He's still too young to open his eyes. Only thing we can figure is he got blown out of the tree by the strong storms. So, my sister has a little more experience with this than me, so we took him out there to her. She put him on a heating pad, and fed him drops of water slowly. As soon as she put the water in his mouth, he perked right up and started rooting around for more. Once he got to warming, he started crawling around the box. The god didn't hurt him at all, and he doesn't seem to be paralyzed. How cool is that? He's still not completely out of the woods, but my sister is going to hang onto him for now.
I have asked her to ask her sister to come here and post more info.
Thanks everyone for helping out!!! Keep your fingers crossed for this little one!
Lulu!!! Thank you!!! You have no idea how much your offer means!! I'll let you know if her sister decides to turn him over to someone...not sure yet what her thoughts are.

Got the message and sending it on -- there is a slight delay now before people can PM or gain access, thanks to the controls we've had to put on TSB to protect us from lunatics....:shakehead

We're not sure if her sister wants to keep him or relocate. When she gets here, she'll fill us in:)
IR...will she need to try to register again or do you have enough info now to let her in? :)

Lilidukes and I are about the same distance from Bonaire GA. We are both willing to help. Lilidukes has more experience and on hand meds available in case of emergency. Maybe I could help with a train if needed. Just keep us posted if we are needed. If you can't get ahold of Lilidukes, I can call her. Hope all works out.

I'm not far from Warner Robins at the moment. Will be going through Columbus, GA in the next day, which is really close, but need an IMMEDIATE answer as to what is going on in order to help.

I spoke to C, and she's going to contact a friend of mine in Columbus for transfer today. If she runs into a problem, I will meet her to pick the baby up on my way back to Atl in the next day. If the transfer doesn't happen today, she will start on formula today.
