Does anyone know if there are any rodent blocks that do NOT have these two ingredients in them????? Blueberry has diabetes, and also, the degus do like the blocks, but because of those ingredients, I don't want to give them any. Anyone know? I checked out both Mazuri and Teklad, and they both have both in them.

Other things you need to watch for are corn syrups, honey, cane sugar and or molasses.
Blueberry is a goo right?
The Sunseed IS Degu food specifically
these are yummy little pellets...Hay oat, wheat, and soy...

No, she is a campbells dwarf hamster. I mentioned the goos (who are fine) because they love the block as a treat, but now am trying to find something better for all of them.
(I do feed that food as their 'base' diet, plus lots of hay).

What about plain seed and grain then adding vitamin drops specific to the water?
You could try baking something with mixed flours by adding a bit of egg to bind it or offer just the grains and seeds.
(A lot of people feed chinchilla feed to their goos :nono ...Tonk refuses to eat hay...he only eats fresh greens and his pellets ...oats as a treat...a real brat)
I hear crashing must run....dogs are having a party...

I think you had already mentioned that you were switching to Hazel Hamster food (I'm going to do that now, too) We have a Campbell's dwarf and now 7 little Chinese hamsters.
Have you been to the Small Angels Rescue website? This link goes right to the hammy diabetes page:

I have always picked the corn out of my rodent's food, which is a LOT, as you know, and also the peanuts because I worry about that, but I hadn't ever heard to take out the peas? Must be high glycemic?
Blueberry is adorable! There's a picture in another thread of a Campbells named "Cherry". Looks like we have a theme going here... :tilt Linda
