My bunny Zonya had babies...Monday night. A total of five healthy babies where born. When I got to my dad's house today, I noticed one of them was deathly skinny. I tried getting him to nurse from mom (one on one) he tried but I don't think he could lift his head high enough, or I dunno if he just couldn't find one..I don't think this baby will survive, so I may try to nurse it myself..I still have formula and syringes, only problem is they are at my mom's house and I'm at my dad's, so I won't be able to nurse the baby until tomorrow. And even then, I don't have nipples due to Max finding them and chewing them up. I am ordering them now and hopefully they'll be here soon. I tried doing bunnies before, a whole litter of six when my girl died, and I know they're extremely hard but I don't think this guy is gonna make it. His siblings are freaking TANKS and he looks as if he was born today. So...Any suggestions for feeding whether it be with mom or syringe? I would like to get as much info as I can tonight, in hopes I could get him on the right track tomorrow, maybe tonight if I am able to get the goat milk formula and a temporary bottle. But I'm scared he won't last the night :/

I don't know anything about bunnies but I'm praying for the little one. I'm sure you will get some great advice soon. :grouphug

Without having the supplies, not going to be a lot you can do. Do you have a syringe (w/o nipples)? You can 'try' putting a drop at at time. Bunnies are extremely hard, and there may be something wrong with this bunny and mom knows, so was not feeding him (is she a first time mom?) I would try again with mom, get him on one of the back teets.

Yah I'm gonna try leaving soon to get a bottle and kitten milk..Its better than nuthin until tomorrow when I can get some FV in him. I have syringes but no nipples, the squirrel chewed them up. Nono this girl has had plenty of litters in the past...She is an excellent show bunny so a lot of our stock comes from her. She is an extremely good mother, in three years she has only lost two or three babies. Thats why I am so surprised this one is so skinny. The baby looked fine to me, he just seemed very weak.

Do you have fv? I would try that w/just the syringe over the KMR and bottle (easier to control). Ok, sorry, just reread your first post (stuff is at moms). Could your mom bring it to you?

Where in FL are you?
There are a lot of members with supplies in FL, maybe one of us can help out!

Baby died :( I just got back with the stuff to nurse him with and when I dug him from the nest box, I found him dead in the corner...Dad didn't check on them throughout the week and didn't realize how small he was up until I showed him today, but it was too late :(

RIP Baby Bunny

I'm sorry he didin't make it, but most likely he had some type of issue mom was aware of and she kicked him out (its common). RIP little angel.
