Zipper seems weak on her legs. She grabs at food and eats a bit. No way she has lost wieght, but seems lethargic. It is late but this just dosent feel right. She has been indoors the past 2 weeks due to weather here. Do you think she will be ok? She did snatch a calcium tablet and go at it more than anything else.

Go to the thread "Specific Ailments" and scroll down to MBD. Start reading that and do what it says. Others will be on here soon to help you. :grouphug

Could be she has the beginning stages of MBD.

Is she a squirrel you raised, or a wild one? How long has she been with you and what do you feed her?

Get together any calcium tablets you have, CitraCal has the best absorption if you have it, and the calcium without vitamin D is best. Some other rehabbers will be answering soon and giving help, so hang in there. :grouphug

Hey Suki, My Ella is in heat and acting either crazy or sleeping a lot. Check her woo hoo and see if its pink and a little swollen. I hope this is what it is. If not I would start her on emergency MBD treatment calcium and magnesium.

She seems just a little weak. Eating though. Ive had Zipper since she was a baby. I feed her blocks, veggies, fruit and all kinds of nuts. I do add in anything she enjoys while on our walks. I worry that the paint in this old house may have lead and she did nibble on a door, but not much.

Might be best just to go ahead and take Zipper into your vet today. Instead of guessing and wondering I would just go ahead and see what she/he says. :grouphug

If you are concerned about lead in your house paint, go to your local hardware store and purchase a test kit.
Houses built before 1978 may have leaded paint...before 1960 the lead levels in paint was even higher.
It would take more than one nibble I would think.

You've had her for awhile...did she do this before she went into estrus before?
What type of blocks do you feed her?
Did she get plenty of sunlight before the weather kicked in? Full spectrum lamp?

Could be MBD, but I recco a vet if you are legitamately concerned about her. Takes the guess work out of it and your baby will get good care in you have a good vet that works w/squirrels.
