I am going to be ordering formula for spring soon and have a question, not sure anyone will know the answer or not.....

I was looking over the prices and noticed that you can get 30/40 formula for about HALF PRICE! compared to the 32/40 formula made for squirrels. I was wondering if anyone knows the difference (ingredients aren't listed for the 30/40 formula which is designed for black tailed deer.

I have gotten the fox valley 30/50 which is made for beaver and used it for older squirrels and the ingredients were similar.

I can easily boost up the protein in the formula with a little pinch of whey protein. Also, the fox valley is only 1/3 to 1/2 of the formula for the baby squirrels (I mix it with Zoologic 33/40 and sometimes Zoologic 33/40 and the homemade squirrel formula that 4skwerlz and I made up), so I am not sure a small difference in ingredients will matter.

So, what do you guys think? Go for the deal or stick with the known squirrel formula? Has anyone tried the black tailed deer formula?

I would definitely talk to Nick directly about this.
As you know, all proteins are not the same.
There may be differences in the amino acids, vitamin and mineral ratios.
I would think that fawn formula would more closely resemble cow's milk being and ungulate and herbivore.
Squirrels are more plant dominated omnivores.
